What to do when you have a potential claim
Should you be faced with the unfortunate event of a mortality claim please call us as soon as possible so we can assist you with the necessary documentation that we require from the vet before the carcass is disposed of. We will require a Post-Mortem report with Identification of the horse.
We understand this is a difficult time for any client so we would be more than happy to assist with this at any time of night or day. Please refer to our contact page and save our 24/7 cell number in your phone so you have constant contact with the Equipagé team.
Report any event to the Police within 48 hours if the claim involves body injury, theft or any other criminal acts.
Should your horse be unresponsive to treatment at home and require life-saving intervention in a clinic and you have the Critical Care Cover you can breathe a sense of relief and not have to worry about the invoice at discharge. Just give us a ring and we’ll get in contact with the Veterinary Clinic so that you are not asked for a deposit on admittance to the clinic. We are available to you 24 hours a day.
Public Liability Cover Claims can get tricky so never admit guilt nor offer a settlement to any other party involved in an incident in which You are involved. Get hold of us straight away so we can get the legal professionals to deal with this for you.
Loss of Use Claims – should your horse be permanently disabled and you have the Loss of Use Cover extension added on your policy please advise us immediately. We will require reports from your veterinarian proving such disability.

Horsebox/Tack Cover Claims – for any theft of tack or horseboxes (tyres) please make sure the theft is reported to the police (within 48 hours) as you will be required to provide us with a case number. For horsebox damage due to accidents we will require two quotations to fix the damages. For broken tack through accidents we will require a quotation sent to us for repair of the tack or if irreparable then the replacement of the tack.
