It has been an extremely difficult and emotional time for me and you have allowed both Flight and I time. I really believed that Flight would improve in the six months and tried all sorts of electomagnetic, homeopathic, massage treatments etc, over and above the medical treatment he received. I am therefore grateful for the understanding and at the same time sad for all of us (Flight, Equipage and me) as we have all been negatively effected.
I am however very thankful for the settlement amount, as I certainly would not even have been able to have contemplated the thought of owning another jumping horse at this stage. I am certainly going to take my time though, as Flight and I put a lot of hours and effort into our sport......

Each year renewing the subscription is one of those things on the to do list – a bit of a bother when you are busy. To All you girls at Equipagé!!!! (I’ve only spoke to girls, don’t know if there are guys) A while back I knew very little about insurance for horses. (Not that I know a whole lot now, ha). Luckily when I purchased my beautiful mare just before Christmas the owner suggested insurance. 3 months later she died. I’m still devastated. On the Saturday morning after the vet diagnosed her I called you guys. I think I spoke to Carol (can’t quite remember) but she was so friendly. So sympathetic. This person even called me on Sunday to see how we (me and her) were doing. I do remember Olivia helped me too. My point being, you are the friendliest people I’ve ever dealt with!!!!! You called to offer your condolences. You called to see how I was coping. (Which I weren’t) You helped all the way. You sorted everything for me. The results from OP, the report from the vet, I could just grieve (still doing). You were kind and caring. You were amazing. You treated me like a dear friend, not like just another number!!! Kerri helped me after 5 pm to insure a horse I bought a month ago. Being friendly and helpful while we struggled with the email and fax. You called me back when I ran out of airtime, you called back with questions I’ve had, even today (sorry again, can’t remember your name) but so friendly. Thanks for the great job you all are doing behind the scenes. We’ve never met, but when we speak it feels like you know me. I can hear that you love your work. Thanks, you are all amazing people. I think highly of you and do recommend you. Sincere THANKS, GOD bless!!!!!!!!!!!

"Just a horse" - unknown author

From time to time, people tell me, 'lighten up, it's just a horse, ' or, 'that's a lot of money for just a horse'.   
They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent, or the costs involved for 'just a horse.'

Some of my proudest moments have come about with 'just a horse.'
Many hours have passed and my only company was 'just a horse,' but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by 'just a horse,' and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of 'just a horse' gave me comfort and reason to overcome the dark.

Those who think it's 'just a horse,' probably also use phrases like 'just a friend,' 'just a sunrise,' or 'just a promise.' '
‘Just a horse' brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.  'Just a horse' brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.

Because of 'just a horse' I rise early, take long walks, and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not 'just a horse' but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

'Just a horse' brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday others have the opportunity to understand that it's not 'just a horse' but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being 'just a man.'

So the next time you hear the phrase 'just a horse,' smile.

You are one of the blessed few who understand.
