I would like to thank Equipage Insurance for the efficient, professional and empathetic way in which they handled my claim. From the first occasion a year ago when my horse was diagnosed with a relatively rare disorder, they worked with me in order to figure out a way to get a correct diagnosis. I am based in Port Elizabeth and the horse was unable to travel for 12 hours in a box to the bigger Equine centers. they agreed that I could fly in the specialist to diagnose him. They covered all the specialists costs and I just had to pay for him to get here. on his diagnosis they then paid out for the loss of use claim. Thereafter they still covered the horse for mortality, even though the disorder was degenerative and we all knew he would not cope for long. Sadly the time came a week ago that the decision was made for him to be humanely euthanased as his pain levels were too high and he had very little quality of life. I must thank Nicole and all concerned at Equipage for the incredibly sympathetic way they dealt with everything during this incredibly emotional time , taking all the stress out of my insurance details while I was trying to deal with the loss of an incredible horse that I loved so much. Everything was settled and handled promptly. For this reason I will continue to insure with Equipage and will sing their praises. Put simply: Thank you!

I have been with Equipagé since 2008 and have had all 3 of our horses covered for Critical Care and Mortality. 18 Years of Service Excellence does not begin to explain it. In 2011 the horses picked up a virus and my boy was in OP for 10 days and we almost lost him. I received unbelievable support from Pauline and had calls asking how he was doing. I felt we mattered and were cared for. They even allowed me to use a formula given to help him, as Pauline said what mattered was saving him and it wouldn’t affect his cover. Fortunately, he pulled through nicely. I then had another claim December 2014 for him and again received the same amazing treatment and care. At no point was there any hesitation as far as cover goes as they were both Critical situations and claims were paid out in an amazing few days. The start of 2015 has been a sad one to say the least, when we had to say goodbye to our very special boy who was a special friend and companion to my daughter since she was 6 years old. This was my first Mortality Claim. The care and compassion shown by Nicole during this time went beyond requirements of service. Discretion and care was taken for information and reports needed and some were dealt with on my behalf making the pain less traumatic in dealing with details. Again, the claim was paid without hesitation and in a few days and will lay in wait for when my daughter is ready to invite a new boy in to her life. I have, and always will, highly recommend Equipagé to all my friends and family as they rise above what is expected from an Insurance Broker. Their genuine care and compassion doesn’t remove pain but helps you feel you can count on them and matter and you not just a commission cheque. I can’t thank Nicole enough this time.

When my Dressage horse cut his tendon due to a freak accident in the paddock he had to be operated with immediate effect. Equipagé contacted the clinic directly and settled the account with them. "Just a horse" - unknown author

From time to time, people tell me, 'lighten up, it's just a horse, ' or, 'that's a lot of money for just a horse'.   
They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent, or the costs involved for 'just a horse.'

Some of my proudest moments have come about with 'just a horse.'
Many hours have passed and my only company was 'just a horse,' but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by 'just a horse,' and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of 'just a horse' gave me comfort and reason to overcome the dark.

Those who think it's 'just a horse,' probably also use phrases like 'just a friend,' 'just a sunrise,' or 'just a promise.' '
‘Just a horse' brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.  'Just a horse' brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.

Because of 'just a horse' I rise early, take long walks, and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not 'just a horse' but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

'Just a horse' brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday others have the opportunity to understand that it's not 'just a horse' but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being 'just a man.'

So the next time you hear the phrase 'just a horse,' smile.

You are one of the blessed few who understand.
